Helen completed her degree at university in Bristol in 1995 and spent eleven years working in Paediatrics and Intensive Care Units at a number of hospitals in Bristol, Birmingham, London and Leeds. After deciding to change careers, she took a one year intensive Outdoor Pursuits Instructor Training Course gaining her SPA and BCU Canoe and Kayak Coaching qualifications amongst others. On a somewhat dark and dreary day in the wet and wilds of Scotland, a visiting instructor suggested she explore the possibility of becoming a First Aid Trainer.

Returning to Leeds, Helen set up her own outdoor pursuits training company (working as a Lead Instructor) while also studying to become a First Aid Trainer. The expertise and experience she gained during her hospital career helped immeasurably and Helen now runs a successful First Aid Training company; working with clients ranging from small businesses, corporations, construction/manufacturing firms and councils to sports coaches, schools, playgroups and new parent groups. Time permitting, she still dabbles in everything 'outdoors' - whether it's instructing young people on how not to barn door on a rock face or teaching novices how to J-stroke in a canoe.

More recently Helen met Steven - they are now married and the proud parents of Rebecca (born 2015) who by the grand age of 3 years old knew EVERYTHING there possibly is to know! Life is now a juggling act of family life and running the business, however it is all the more wonderful and time spent outdoors with friends is that much more exciting.
