Spring 2018
Current news & updates
I'm putting my hand up and confessing to being very poor at sending out newsletters of late... I'm afraid that with juggling training course delivery, being mummy and also planning our wedding with Steven I've had very little time to spare. Our daughter is very excited about 'our big party' next month (aka our Wedding!) and has dictated the flavour of our cake!
I've been asked by some customers whether I will be keeping Underwood or becoming Mrs Bateman - the answer is both as I plan to use Underwood for work purposes and will be Mrs Bateman for anything else. There will be one week next month when I am hard to reach, however Helena will be in the office as usual Tuesday - Friday whilst I'm away - thank you for bearing with us especially on a Monday when we do not have regular office cover!
Best wishes,
Helen and the rest of the team at Underwood Training

Update on Epipen Adrenaline Auto-injector
The manufacturers of Epipen have updated the guidance on administering an Epipen. Key issues are positioning of the casualty during an anaphylactic reaction, length of time holding the Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI) in the thigh and it not being necessary to massage the injection site after administering the AAI. Full information can be viewed on the patient area of the Epipen website - check out the video through the link below.
Caution: there are other AAI's in the UK and persons suffering from Anaphylaxis may carry another brand; different brands have differing injection times - always check the label and if in doubt it is safest to keep the AAI in the casualty's thigh for 10 seconds as this is the longest that any current AAI's take to inject.

AED (training model) in use
Candidates on courses have been asking if there is any way of locating AED's close to where they live or work - the answer is YES! Check out this information from Yorkshire Ambulance Service
