Course Bookings
We provide First Aid Training courses through the following methods:
Bookings can be made directly via our website for virtual courses.
For all other courses enquires and bookings (including group bookings) can be made by contacting our office by email, phone or via our website. Bookings will be confirmed via email.
Fees
Our standard terms require course fees to be paid 14 days prior to the delivery of training courses; the exception to this is for late bookings where payment is expected within 7 days of receipt of the invoice for training.
If your company uses a Purchase Order (PO) system, then a PO number should be supplied within 5 working days of the booking of any staff onto our courses. If booking training several months ahead, we may choose to generate your invoice closer to your course date; please email us if you require us to generate this sooner.
For virtual courses: payment is made at point of enrolment online through the website.
For individuals attending open courses: an invoice will be emailed after booking is completed, payment can then be made via BACS transfer to our company account as detailed on the invoice or can be made by clicking the ‘pay now’ button on the invoice to use an online card payment portal.
For company bookings and all group courses: an invoice for the course fee will be raised and payment can be made via BACS transfer. Please provide a purchase order number within 5 working days of agreement of booking course date(s).
Cancellation and Course Transfer
If a course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, insufficient bookings or is overbooked by Underwood Training Ltd, you will receive a full refund or transfer to an alternative course date. We reserve the right to cancel a course at any time.
If the candidate booked onto the course has symptoms of Covid-19 or has been advised to isolate by a medical professional, then workplaces can substitute another member of their workforce onto the booked place at any time up until commencement of the start of the course, or we will arrange transfer to a course running on a later date where we have a place available.
Substitutions: An employer can substitute another member of staff to attend a first aid course if necessary up until the time at which the course commences. The office should be contacted by email, or if within 48 hours of the course commencement by telephone to confirm details of the new attendee. The exception to this is for a First Aid at Work Requalification course where the substitute does not meet the pre-requisites for attending this course.
Late arrivals or absences
Where the course results in attainment of a certificate, late arrivals or absences will usually culminate in candidates not receiving it. This is due to the minimum number of hours attendance required by the Awarding Organisations for some of the awards.
Responsibilities
Whilst your safety on all our courses is at the forefront of our thinking, and professional standards are employed throughout, clients are expected to take responsibility for their own actions and conduct. Please see our section on covid-secure-training, the principles of which will apply for any future pandemic e.g. a flu epidemic.
For physical first aid training, clients are expected to be able to kneel, twist and bend over simulated casualties. Some course assessments also include a written (often electronic) assessment in addition to practical assessments. If there is any doubt concerning the ability to complete any part of the course and/or assessments, please bring it to our attention at the time of booking. Examples of this include joint injuries such as back or knee problems, physical disabilities, pre-existing medical issues e.g. angina and learning needs such as support required for dyslexia.
Please note: our usual training room is located upstairs (1st floor) and there is not a lift in the building.
We may be able to put reasonable adjustments in place subject to permission from the Awarding Organisation for the qualification provided these are applied for in advance of the course. Given that all reasonable adjustments are specific to the individual, please contact us directly to discuss your personal requirements.
Insurance
Underwood Training Ltd has public liability and professional indemnity insurance cover of £5 million. Further details are available on request.
