Medical Emergencies Training for Schools

To support the statutory guidance regarding the support that pupils with medical conditions should receive at school which came into force on 1st September 2014 we are able to deliver First Aid Medical Emergency Training for schools.

This includes for the following medical conditions:
• Asthma
• Diabetes
• Epilepsy
• Anaphylaxis – this includes Adrenaline Auto-Injector devices (AAI’s) training

Session length is dependant on the number and combination of conditions that is required and number of staff requiring training but can be as short as 1 hour to cover two key conditions; please contact us to discuss your needs.

Course Content

For each condition which is required (select from Epilepsy/Seizures, Asthma, Diabetes, Anaphylaxis):

Understanding what the condition is

Use of individual healthcare plans (IHP)

Emergency First Aid for exacerbation of conditions

Prevention of exacerbations

Ongoing support measures that may be required

Documentation provided to workplace detailing attendees and course content

Adrenaline Auto-Injector administration using training units covered if Anaphylaxis is required
