Paediatric Emergency First Aid
The Paediatric Emergency First Aid course is module 1 (day 1) of the 2-day (12 hour) Paediatric First Aid course which complies with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage legislation pertaining to children aged from birth to five years.
The shorter 1-day course covers those lifesaving first aid emergencies which cannot wait for an ambulance; it is suitable for staff in settings where there are also trained Paediatric First Aiders, or where there is not a direct duty of care for children on the premises e.g. at a soft play centre where children are in the care of their parents. It is NOT suitable for lone childminders or key nursery staff who must hold the full Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Recommended for: Anyone working with younger children who not is required to hold the full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.
