Outdoor Incident Management First Aid
The Outdoor Incident Management First Aid course (ODIM) achieves a first aid qualification as required by many National Governing Body (NGB) outdoor pursuits and sports coaching bodies including the MLTB, BCU etc. There is a large outdoor practical element where first aid skills are put to the test in a realistic environment with all the problems of outdoor terrain and weather.
Under the HSE first aid regulations, the ODIM course is an alternative to the 3-day First Aid at Work course where employees spend a lot of time working outdoors. This course has also been adapted for business and industry including for nature reserve and forestry workers, remote surveyors and is ideal for supervisors of the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme working with young people.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Adult - practical
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Child/Drowning casualty - practical
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - practical
CPR and AED theory
Choking - Adult, Child & Infant
Minor Injuries – soft tissue injury, fractures and dislocations
Serious injuries – including injuries to the head, chest, abdomen and thigh
Spine and Pelvis injuries
Eye Injuries
Burns including electrical accidents
Temperature regulation - Hypothermia/ Hyperthermia
Common medical problems – including angina/conscious heart attack, asthma, hyperventilation, diabetes, epilepsy (seizures), fainting, anaphylaxis and stroke
Poisons including bites and stings
Issues pertaining to PPE including suspension trauma
