First Aid for Mental Health Courses

We all have mental health – it can be good, not so good, or downright bad. Each year 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a Mental Health condition.  Covid-19 has been documented to have affected 1.9 million workers in terms of adverse effects on their mental health. Mental Health problems are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination.

First Aid for Mental Health courses teach how to identify signs and symptoms of common Mental Health problems, reduce stigma due to raising awareness of Mental Health, provide skills in starting supportive conversations, and knowledge of when and how to signpost someone to professional help.  Learners will also gain a greater awareness of recognising stress and techniques for managing this.

Our courses are delivered in accordance with best practice and achieve an Ofqual regulated qualification.  The Health and Safety Executive guidance refers to Mental Health in the workplace in the ‘First aid needs assessment’.

There are three levels of First Aid for Mental Health courses and a course specifically tailored to those working with children and young people. If you are unsure which course is right for you, feel free to contact us to help you in working out what is most appropriate for your needs.
